The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has recommended Dettol Ghana, a product made by Reckitt, as the go-to hygiene item to encourage good hygiene among Ghanaians in general and pregnant women in particular. A memorandum of agreement was signed by the two organisations to formally establish the collaboration.
The GRNMA is a professional organisation that represents all types of nurses and midwives in Ghana. Its goal is to professionally advance nurses so they can meet the demands of today's workplace while advancing the health and socioeconomic status of the people they serve.
At the signing event, Country Sales Manager for Reckitt, Mr. Henry Ankrah, spoke on behalf of Dettol and said, "Dettol is one of the most trusted brands in the world, supported by research and innovation. It is a safe, simple-to-use, and efficient hygiene tool that can eliminate up to 100 bacteria that might cause sickness. The collaboration between Dettol and the GRNMA is consistent with the brand's mission to "defend life, lessen the burden of sickness, and promote behaviour change to establish ingrained hygiene habits."
He stated that through a variety of initiatives, the alliance seeks to further promote excellent hygiene practises in healthcare facilities, neighbourhoods, and the general public. In order to raise public knowledge of health and hygiene issues, it will also be helpful to develop and distribute public awareness messages and campaigns.
Mr. Ankrah also praised the nurses and midwives for their contributions to ensuring safe childbirth and offering Ghanaians comprehensive healthcare. He expressed happiness about the collaboration with the GRNMA and hoped that nurses and midwives around the nation will serve as brand ambassadors for the Dettol line of goods.
The association has given Dettol the unique right to use its official emblem on all of its goods and brand materials through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding.
The official endorsement and emblem of the association will appear on every Dettol product and brand across all media channels.
