TWO ARMED ROBBERS BAGS 17 YEARS JAIL TERM EACH AT MAKESSIM.

The Mankessim District Court in the central region presided over by Gloria Laryea, has sentenced two teenagers to 17 years in prison for robbery.

 

The two, both 18 years old, are Emmanuel Arthur, a tricycle rider, and Isaac Antw, a tricycle rider and farmer.

 

 

Briefing the media on the case, Mankessim Circuit Court Registrar Mr. Godfred Kofi Adu said that on July 4, 2022, Shaibu Alidu, a scrap dealer and Moree resident, filed a complaint with residents of the town of Waakrom by the boys Men attacked and robbed.

 

Sergeant John Ahinful-Essel, who is in charge of the case, said information gathered by the complainant and residents of the town of Waakrom led to the discovery of the suspects’ hiding place, after which they were arrested, prosecuted, and imprisoned.

 

The accused led police during an investigation to Obiremadzi, a suburb of Waakrom in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese district of the Central Region, where a quantity of 520 Gh¢ and two polyethylene-wrapped MTN SIM cards were recovered from the bush.

A black hat, glove, and piece of the board were recovered from the scene.

They were charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime; namely, robbery contrary to sections 23 and 43 of the Penal Code 1960 (Act 29) and robbery in contravention of section 49 of the Penal Code 1960 (Act 29).

According to a prosecutor's document obtained by Reuters, Shakira lived in Spain regularly between 2012 and 2014. In May 2012, she purchased a residence in Barcelona that she and her partner Pique used to raise their kid, who was born there in 2013.

 

 

Shakira, also often regarded as the Queen of Latin Pop, asserts that she has no unpaid tax debt and that she paid the 17.2 million euros that the Spanish tax agency claimed she owed.
