Report: Barcelona considering making swap offer to Spurs for 25-year-old
Reguilon is clearly surplus to requirements for Antonio Conte, having not participated in the Italian's pre-season training.
The 25-year-old has been extensively linked with a move to Sevilla in recent weeks (Football Insider), having previously spent a season on loan at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium in 2019/20.
Last week, Mundo Deportivo reported that Barcelona are interested in Reguilon as a replacement for Chelsea star Marcos Alonso, but this was later refuted by Sport, who indicated that the Catalan giants would not pursue the Spurs man due to his ties to Real Madrid. However, according to Romero's most recent report, Barcelona are ready to move forward with a move for Reguilon, with a left-back acquisition being the club's next priority.
Instead of paying a transfer fee for the Spain international, Xavi Hernandez's men might propose a clean exchange with Depay, who is thought to be eager to leave.
Spurs Online Opinion
I don't think this proposed swap deal makes sense for Spurs since I don't see Depay fitting in after the club signed Richarlison. Even if Spurs were interested in the Barcelona striker, I doubt he would want to join the club because he would be aware of his restricted playing time.
