Adaklu's Member of Parliament (MP), Mr. Kwame Agbodza, has vowed to do all in his power to ensure the community's growth in order to earn the public's trust.
"Being chosen to represent Adaklu in Parliament is not a right but a privilege, which required me to serve the people in humility and bring growth to them," he added. "I am not the most intelligent, wealthy, or gorgeous person in Adaklu.
When the two-unit nurses' quarters for the Adaklu Hlihave Community Health Planning Services (CHPS) Compound in the Adaklu area were being put into service, Mr. Agbodza made the commitment.
He used his portion of the MP Common Fund to pay for the project, which cost GHC229,000. Mr. Agbodza stated that he was prepared to collaborate with other stakeholders to address the district's lack of infrastructure, which includes, among other things, school buildings and nurse's quarters.
In order to make Adaklu a desirable place, he urged the locals to work with him. He said "We shouldn't remain impassive while waiting for the government to handle all of our problems. Let's take control of our own destiny.
He said that the district, which had just six health facilities when it was founded in 2012, could now brag of having 17 institutions, and that the 18th, located near Adaklu Dave, will soon be put into operation. "It is due of your collective spirit that Pencils of Promise (PoP) committed to support other communities' classroom blocks," he said, praising the Adaklu Hlihave residents.
The MP stated that PoP had constructed 28 classroom buildings in the district, with a 29th set to be inaugurated shortly. She highlighted that this was unprecedented and had contributed to the elimination of the majority of schools located beneath trees in the area.
The best legacy adults could leave for their children, he reminded them, was to invest in their education.
