Both the Middle East Africa (MEA) Level and the AstraZeneca African Cluster have acknowledged his significant contributions to the company.
Mawuli's hiring comes at a time when it is widely believed that Zipline's success in Ghana has been a major factor in the company's explosive growth in nations including Nigeria, Kenya, the United States, Japan, and Côte d'Ivoire.
In Ghana, Zipline started operating in April 2019 with a single distribution centre in Omenako. Since then, it has grown to six operational hubs, providing daily deliveries of 250 medical items on average to over 2500 healthcare facilities.
The Ghanaian government has undertaken significant efforts to lessen the difficulties involved with accessing universal health coverage in order to assist alleviate the clear access concerns in the health sector. When Covid-19-related global issues made it difficult to distribute vaccinations equally in 2019, Zipline's reliable system turned into a crucial special purpose vehicle for the government's campaign to immunise people. More quickly than known conventional logistics delivery techniques, multiple healthcare institutions and vaccination sites were connected to vaccinations and PPEs in a matter of minutes.
In addition to a considerable decrease in vaccination stockouts, healthcare institutions now stock a wider variety of medications and supplies. This resulted in Ghana noting any Covid-19 vaccine expirations, partly as a result of the uniform distribution throughout the nation.
Ivermectin pills were recently distributed to a few villages in the Ejura Sekyedumase, Sekyere Central, and Offinso North Districts thanks to the company's help of the Ghana Health Services, as part of a yearly initiative to provide large quantities of ivermectin pills with the goal of lowering the occurrence of the infectious and parasitic illness Onchocerciasis, which is included among the Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).
These amazing attempts to change how drones are used for instantaneous delivery have not gone ignored. The business has been acknowledged as the largest drone delivery network in the world and has earned the U.S. Department of State's Awards for Corporate Excellence (ACE).
Of fact, Ghana presently has the largest national-scale drone delivery system in the whole world. As a consequence of Zipline's new function as an equitable distributor in times of need, the government of Ghana is saving a lot of money by drastically lowering the number of medicine expirations caused by health institutions' overstocking.
