The Education Minister wishes all WASSCE candidates the best of luck in 2022.
Dr Yaw Adutwum, Minister of Education, extended best wishes on Monday to all candidates taking this year's West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination, which will take place from Monday, August 1, to September 27, 2022.
"Together with your parents and teachers, our dear nation has made great contributions over the past three years of your education, and now is the time for you to finish well and excel," the Minister said in a statement to the Ghana News Agency.
The Minister urged all candidates, invigilators, supervisors, school officials, and teachers to follow all COVID-19 safety protocols during the examination to ensure that no malpractice occurred.
"Let me assure you that my Ministry is collaborating with the Ghana Education Service, the West African Examination Council, and the Security Services to ensure a smooth and peaceful examination at all designated examination centers across the country," he said.
According to data from the West African Examination Council (WAEC), 422,883 candidates from 977 participating schools across the country are expected to sit for the exam.
For this year's exams, there will be 775 designated examination centers and supervisors across the country.

Female candidates have outnumbered male candidates in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for the past four years, with 219,130 to 203,753 in 2022.
According to data from the West African Examination Council (WAEC), 422,883 candidates from 977 participating schools across the country were expected to sit for the examination, which will take place from today, August 1, to Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
Females outnumbered males by 224,884 out of a total of 446,321 candidates in 2021, with 224,884 versus 221,437.
There were 175,231 females and 170,867 males among the 346,098 candidates in 2020.
In 2019, females outnumbered males by 246,529 to 263,295 for a total of 509, 824.
For the past four years, the Ashanti Region has had the highest number of candidates, with females outnumbering males. The Ashanti region had 41,424 females and 40,977 males in 2019. Males outnumbered females by 44,063 in 2020, while females outnumbered males by 43,232.
In 2021, there were 54,422 males and 54,063 females. In 2022, there will be 53,469 females and 50,865 females.
The case is not different for the Greater Accra Region, which records more females than males.
On a regional basis for this year’s examination, Greater Accra registered 22,301 females and 19,660 males.
There were 24, 939 females against 22, 655 males in 2021.
In addition, females registered 19,484 candidates in 2020, while males registered 18,490.
In 2019, there were 19,401 female candidates compared to 17,730 male candidates.
For this year's examination, the Ashanti region had the most candidates with 104,334 followed by Bono, Ahafo, and Bono East with 60,199 and Upper West with 7,783 candidates.
This year's examinations will be held at 775 designated examination centers and supervisors across the coun655try, according to WAEC.
