According to the Minister for Communications and Digitalization, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, a self-service SIM Registration App will be ready for a commercial launch on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, as part of efforts to address various issues related to the ongoing SIM re-registration process.
She said that the software will be made available for download on both Android and IOS this week with a five-cedi surcharge, allowing the general people to re-register their sim cards from the comfort of their homes without having to wait at any network provider's office.
The Minister also mentioned that as part of the Self-Service SIM Registration App's rollout, there would be public education on its usage. If nothing unexpected happens, the SIM Registration App will be ready for download this week on both Android and iOS. A 5 cedi fee will be applied to each registration made using the app.
"Non-resident Ghanaians who do not have the Ghana card can finish the procedure using their passports, but once they do, they must update their information on the Ghana card," she continued.
To achieve this, they have until December 2022. I admonish them to follow these instructions and to get in touch with the NCA if they encounter any odd difficulties. Ghanaians on official business abroad or scholarship recipients who are unable to obtain the Ghana card before December should get in touch with the NCA.
