On Monday, August 1, access to the police services at the CPC Police station in the Krofrom neighbourhood of Kumasi was shut off because of allegedly unpaid rent arrears.

Access to general police services, including the charge office, criminal records, and the issue of police clearance certificates, has been suspended at the sealed police station.

According to information obtained by Onuaonline through AkomaFM, a number of persons who flocked to the police station on Monday morning in search of a variety of services were met with the worst letdown of their life.

The police administration received an eviction notice about three years ago, and little did we know that the deadline for the eviction was ending of July 2022, he said on Akoma FM's current affairs and political show, GhanAkoma, on Monday, August 1, 2022. According to Assembly member for CPC Electoral Area, Kwaku Appiah, "the police station has been operational for over thirty years and it has been housed in the said home at CPC by the same landlord,"

Numerous locals have voiced conflicting opinions on the CPC station rent difficulties, despite the police administration's lack of response. A portion of the locals believe the police station was merely a white elephant because of the rising crime rate, despite the fact that the decommissioning of the police station in such a crime-prone region will raise severe security issues.

Several CPC locals rejoice over the sealed police station.

However, some locals have expressed joy over the sealed police station. According to information obtained by Onuaonline, several locals have heard that the police station has been shut up. ecstatic for reasons that they alone can explain. The claim is based on the high crime rate in the region, which the locals claim was the method used to commit such crimes, therefore their joy.

To reduce crime at CPC, call for a new police station.

Kwaku Appiah, an assemblyman representing CPC, further pleaded with the government to act quickly and set up a station at CPC to assist in the battle against crime. The absence of a police station would be the cherry on top for criminals as the Krofrom region is already marked as a crime hotspot.
