Transfer: Alexis Sanchez’s contract terminated
Inter Milan have reached an agreement with Alexis Sanchez to terminate his contract. The Chilean will now leave the club immediately, becoming a free agent this summer. This was confirmed by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on Monday. Romano tweeted: “Inter have reached an agreement in principle with Alexis Sanchez to terminate the current contract and part ways with immediate effect, just final detail before it’s signed. “Sanchez, available as free agent with Olympique Marseille among clubs interested.” Sanchez joined Inter from Manchester United on a free transfer in 2020. The 33-year-old has scored just 20 goals and provided 23 assists in 108 games.

Alexis Sanchez has sent a message to potential buyers regarding his fitness ahead of a potential Inter Milan exit this summer. The Chilean forward is expected to leave the San Siro this summer having fallen down the pecking order with the club. He was already competing with the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa for a starting berth and the Italian giants have strengthened their forward options even further. Sanchez has been joined by former Manchester United colleague Romelu Lukaku - the Belgian having penned a season-long loan deal in Milan. Meanwhile, Inter have also secured the services of Henrikh Mkhitaryan on a free transfer from Roma - an ironic turn of events considering the pair were both involved in an infamous swap deal between the Red Devils and Arsenal back in January 2018. He could yet face more competition before the end of the transfer window with Inter chasing the services of Argentine forward Paulo Dybala who left Juventus at the end of his contract, although a deal has not yet been announced amid reported competition from fellow Serie A outfit Napoli. Sanchez has just a year remaining on his contract at the San Siro and has been linked with a surprise return to Arsenal, whilst Brazilian outfit Flamengo have been credited with an interest in his services. Whilst it remains to be seen where the now 33-year-old’s future lies, he has sent a message to potential buyers over his fitness.
