Chelsea has reached a 'full agreement' on personal terms with the 24-year-old
Marc Cucurella of Brighton is said to have agreed personal terms with Chelsea ahead of a possible move.
According to respected journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the Brighton full-back has reached a "full agreement" to join Stamford Bridge this summer.
According to reports, the 24-year-old has agreed to terms with Chelsea and will now have to wait for the two clubs to finalize a deal.
According to Romano, the Blues will hold additional talks with Brighton on Tuesday in order to finalize the transfer. As a result, it appears that this could be completed as soon as today, and he could become the club's third signing of the transfer window.
Chelsea are said to be willing to pay Brighton's £50 million asking price for Cucurella, making them favourites to sign him ahead of Manchester City.
After only a year in English football, the Spanish left-back appears to be on the verge of a big move.
Thomas Tuchel's team has moved one step closer to acquiring Brighton's speed machine.
Cucurella had a huge impact in English football last season, providing excellent stamina and pace up and down the left flank for Brighton. He also has the defensive knowledge and versatility to play as a centre-back in a back three.
Chelsea chose the Premier League proven route with the signing of Raheem Sterling, which they are now following with the imminent Cucurella transfer.
Most supporters, however, are curious about Tuchel's plans for him if he joins.
It would be a fascinating battle with Ben Chilwell for the left wing-back spot at Stamford Bridge, but it would be a shame to have one of them on the bench every week.
Interestingly, Tuchel is said to be considering signing Cucurella as a centre-half option.
