Tottenham plan to loan Udogie back to Udinese once he has signed to continue his development in Italy, having scored five goals in 35 games for the Serie A side last season. Manchester City could rival Spurs' bid for the wonderkid after reportedly making an enquiry. Brighton could also reignite their interest in the defender - the Seagulls were said to have had an eye on Udogie earlier in the window. It is possible Brighton would offer Udogie first-team football straight away as left-back Marc Cucurella appears to be heading to Chelsea. The Blues were believed to have reached a 52.5million deal to sign the Spaniard on Wednesday but Brighton denied the claim. The club tweeted: "Contrary to inaccurate reports from numerous media outlets this evening, no agreement has been reached with any club to sell Marc Cucurella." Cucurella had handed in a transfer request to force through a move to the City, but they were unwilling to pay more than 30m. Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly opened talks to sign left-back Destiny Udogie from Serie A side Udinese on a permanent transfer. According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur have initiated negotiations with Udinese to secure the signing of 19-year-old defensive prodigy Destiny Udogie in the ongoing transfer window. Udogie came through the youth ranks at Hellas Verona but left the club for Udinese last summer. Having joined them on loan, the 19-year-old enjoyed a positive breakthrough campaign in Italy, bagging five goals and three assists in 37 matches, prompting the Serie A side to make his transfer permanent this summer. Udogie has represented the Italian national team across various age-group levels and is currently part of the Under-21 setup, for whom he has featured four times. The teenage left-backs performances have caught the eye of several clubs in Europe, including Tottenham Hotspur.
