Fulham Vs Liverpool: Probable Lineups, Preview ,Prediction, Tactics, Team News & Key Stats, missing players
Liverpool will play Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday in an effort to make a strong start to the 2022–23 Premier League campaign.
The 2022–23 Premier League season has finally here, and on Friday night, a peculiar campaign will begin with the match between Crystal Palace and Arsenal. Fulham's first game since making their comeback to the top division will get things started on Saturday when the Londoners visit Liverpool at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.
After bouncing back and forth between the EFL Championship and the Premier League the past few seasons, Fulham will be anxious to shake the reputation of being a yo-yo team.
After dominating the rankings in the second tier, the Cottagers were promoted back to the top division. After a strong preseason that saw them defeat OGC Nice and Estoril Praia, Marco Silva's team will be ready to go in 2022/23.
However, Liverpool had a dismal preseason, losing to Manchester United 4-0 last month and Strasbourg 3-0 just a few days ago. Red Bull Salzburg defeated the Reds 1-0 as well. But the victory over Manchester City to win the FA Community Shield will inspire Jurgen Klopp and his team.
The most recent match between Liverpool and Fulham took place in March 2021, and Mario Lemina's goal gave Fulham the victory. Before the most recent meeting between the two sides, The Hard Tackle takes a closer look at the encounter.
Team News & Tactics
Fulham
Pereira will attempt to exert influence and form a connection with Aleksandar Mitrovic, who will be eager to turn around his dismal Premier League record. The two wide attackers for Fulham will be Bobby Reid and Neeskens Kebano, who will support Mitrovic from the sides.
Liverpool
In their typical 4-3-3 shape, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk will be the central defensive duo for Liverpool against Fulham. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson are without a doubt the Reds' two full-backs, and they cannot be overlooked.
Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara, and Jordan Henderson choose the central midfield positions up front, leaving only James Milner and Harvey Elliott as backup possibilities. The offensive unit is similarly underwhelmed, with Klopp receiving less in the end the final third.
The first-choice wide attackers for Liverpool are Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz, and against Fulham, the pair posed the majority of the threat. The false nine will once again be played by Roberto Firmino, who recently reaffirmed his intention to stay at Liverpool through the summer. Darwin Nunez will serve as a backup option.
Probable Lineup (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Firmino, Diaz
Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Leno; Mbabu, Adarabioyo, Ream, Robinson; Palhinha, Reed; Reid, Pereira, Kebano; Mitrovic
