The blockchain industry is booming, and there's a lot of money to be made. If you're looking to make your mark on the world of blockchain programming, you're going to need to know which languages are best suited for the task. We've rounded up the 10 best programming languages for blockchain right here!

1. Python

Python is one of the most popular programming languages in use today. It is easy to read and write, and it has a large number of libraries. This makes it very useful for blockchain development.

2. JavaScript

JavaScript is another popular programming language that is used for web development, but it can also be used for blockchain development. It has lots of libraries available for use, which makes it a good choice for blockchain development because there are many different types of blockchains that need to be built from scratch.

3. C++

C++ is an object-oriented programming language that was created by Bjarne Stroustrup in 1979 at Bell Labs. One of its main benefits is that it allows developers to write more efficient code than other languages like JavaScript or Python can offer when building applications on top of a blockchain platform like Ethereum (ETH).

4. Go (Golang)

Go was created by Google in 2009 as an alternative to C++ so that developers could write their own code faster with fewer bugs than if they were working with C++ or Java (another popular object-oriented programming language). Go is still very new compared to other languages like Java or C++; however, it has already gained some popularity among developers.

5. Solidity

Solidity is a programming language designed for writing smart contracts. It was developed by Gavin Wood, Christian Reitwießner, Alex Beregszaszi, Liana Husikyan, Yoichi Hirai and several other authors in 2014.

Solidity is designed to target the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), a runtime environment that executes smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. As such, it is a high level language whose syntax is similar to that of JavaScript and it can be compiled into bytecode that can be uploaded onto the blockchain. Solidity also provides support for inheritance, libraries and other features that allow developers to write cleaner and more efficient code.

There are three main types of data types in Solidity:

- Integers - These are whole numbers without decimals. Integers can be signed or unsigned depending on whether they have a positive or negative value respectively;

- Booleans - These are either true or false;

- Strings - Strings contain characters enclosed within double quotes ("). They may contain any character except “\0” which represents an end of string marker;

- Arrays - Arrays contain multiple values of one type

In conclusion, the 5 best programming languages for blockchain are: Python, JavaScript, C++, Go and Solidity. Each language has its own benefits and drawbacks, so it’s important to choose the one that’s right for your project. With so many options available, there’s sure to be a language that’s a perfect fit for your needs.
