Focus on your exam and not the GLC directive - Outgoing Law School SRC President to students.

Wonder Victor Kutor, the outgoing President of the Students Representative Council of the Ghana School of Law, has urged prospective candidates preparing to take this year's entrance exams to concentrate on their studies.

He stated that preparing for an examination is critical in any given situation, and that this can only be done if they focus on the exams rather than the other obvious issues surrounding the examinations.

According to him, the General Legal Council's directive requiring candidates to sign an undertaking promising not to question the outcome of the entrance examination results should not divert their attention.

In an interview with GhanaWeb over the weekend, Victor Kutor stated that the General Legal Council is a compassionate body that has the option of revising its position on the matter.

Victor Kutor, who wrote the Part Two Bar Exams and is currently undergoing the final internship with his colleagues in preparation for the October Call to the Bar, stated that the most important thing for the candidates at this time is to focus on their books so that as many of them as possible will pass and gain admission into the Ghana School of Law for their professional training.

"The General Legal Council is a compassionate body that understands students' plight and concerns." You may recall that when the issue of the 499 students arose, they listened to our appeal and admitted these students.

"This is why I believe prospective students should simply focus on their studies and pass the exams," he emphasized.

He emphasized that some of the candidates had already signed the undertaking and submitted their forms. He cautioned that those who do not sign the forms will be automatically disqualified from taking the exams.

The entrance exams for this year will be held on September 23, 2022, with over 3000 applicants expected to take the exams to begin a two-year professional law course.

But before the exams is conducted, the General Legal Council has issued a directive asking the candidates not to request to see the marked answered script or the marking scheme used.

The directive also stated that they should not request remarking of their scripts or score tallying after the results were released.

"No request for script re-marking, score re-tallying, or review or marks will be accepted." Candidates may not also request to see their marked answer scripts or the marking scheme used to grade the questions, according to the GLC directive.

Since the directive became public, the Association of Law Students has expressed its dissatisfaction with the General Legal Council's request, urging it to reconsider the directive.

The National Union of Ghana Students has also weighed in, stating that it will oppose the directive.
