Women are encouraged to get regular breast cancer screenings.

Women have been urged to undergo regular breast cancer screening in order to avoid late-stage disease and death.

According to Dr. Mrs. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, President of Breast Care International (BCI), the disease can be treated and cured if detected early.

On Sunday, August 7, 2022, she said this during a free breast cancer education and screening for members of the Adweso branch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Koforidua, Eastern Region.

She stated that most breast cancer deaths could have been avoided if proper screening had been conducted early on to detect it and prompt action could have been taken.

"Because the disease is not painful in its early stages, the only way to detect it is through medical screening." "The disease is only preventable, treatable, and curable if detected early," she said.

Dr. Mrs. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, the CEO of Peace and Love Hospitals in Kumasi and Accra, also asked them to dispel the myth that breast cancer is caused by a spiritual factor.

Dr. Mrs. Wiafe Addai explained that, while the disease's causal agent has yet to be identified, it contains no traces of witchcraft.

She also advised the women to avoid applying traditional medicines to their breasts whenever they noticed unusual things in their breasts and to seek prompt medical attention from qualified health professionals.

Rev Mrs. Janet O. D. Addo, Resident Pastor of Adweso Presbyterian Church of Ghana, urged men to encourage their wives to visit health facilities for breast screening on a regular basis.

She also advised the women not to rely solely on prayers when dealing with complex diseases such as breast cancer, but to seek treatment from hospitals as well.

Akwesi Amissah, thirty, is accused of inflicting cutlass wounds on a coworker after accusing him of pursuing his fiancee.

The incident occurred in the Central's Aikuma Odoben Brakwa District.

Oheneba Ambrose described the incident on Nyakonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5fm, saying the victim gave the suspect's fiancee GHC20.

He claimed that the fiancee came to the victim's workplace and pleaded with her to give her GHC5 so she could buy food for her child since the fiancee was not present.

The victim allegedly gave the lady GHC20. But he had no idea that his act of kindness would cause him pain.

It's unclear what the suspect was told; it's been reported that he assaulted the victim, but some nearby residents separated them.

He then allegedly went into his room, pulled out a cutlass, and attacked the victim.

The victim was injured in the neck, hand, and other areas of his body.

Residents and coworkers apprehended the suspect and handed him over to police.

Residents also assaulted him for acting without justification.
