Erik ten Hag's match report has came shortly Manchester United's horrible start against Brighton.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag's side suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season, falling 2-1 to Brighton in front of a stunned Old Trafford crowd.
Erik ten Hag has publicly now become fifth stable manager to attempt to imitate Sir Alex Ferguson's world famous spell as manager of Manchester United.

But, with the legendary Scot viewing from the stands at Old Trafford, the Dutchman got off on the worst possible start, losing 2-1 at home to Brighton on Sunday. And it has now been revealed that Ten Hag chose to ignore Ferguson's tried and true tactic of giving his players a half-time rollicking.

During United's era of superiority in English football, Fergie's 'hairdryer treatment' became associated, with dressing room tales becoming the stuff of legends. And if he had been in the home locker room on Sunday, the 2022 Red Devils would have likely returned with red ears.

After a promising pre-season under Ten Hag, the looking to optimize his new charges vanished in the space of 45 minutes, with the Seagulls taking a two-goal lead into the break. The well-drilled visitors appeared to be a cut above their more illustrious hosts, and their position of strength was more than justified.

United were sloppy in possession and sluggish in transition, with the midfield trio of Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, and Fred losing the ball 25 times in total. The home fans, who had been so upbeat before kickoff, booed their team after yet another poor performance.

Ten Hag, on the other hand, produced a quiet and reserved message to his performing poorly stars, according to the Sun. According to the report, rather than chastising his players for mistakes, he urged them to forget them, using a "softly, softly" approach.

Ten Hag admitted that United improved after the break, thanks in part to Cristiano Ronaldo's introduction, but it wasn't enough to avoid an opening-day defeat. His approach was well received by United's players throughout the summer, though it did not translate into a good performance.

While he maintained a calm demeanor in front of his players, Ten Hag was forced to admit he was disappointed with his team's performance. "Definitely a setback, a real disappointment," he said, according to Sky Sports.

"But we must deal with it. I knew it would be difficult from the start; it's a long and slow process, but we could have done better."

While he acknowledged progress, he added, "I'm not satisfied, absolutely not." We lose, and it's not necessary. We should have done things differently. It is not easy to construct, build, or develop it; it takes time."

Roy Keane, one of Ferguson's most trusted lieutenants, slammed the club's spin, claiming it was simply more of the same from his old team. "When it comes to pre-season, I saw a lot of PR nonsense from Manchester United during the games, and I still saw the same issues. "It's the same characters, same personalities, especially in midfield," he said after the game to Sky Sports.
