Dave McMenamin of ESPN says that LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers met earlier this month to talk about their future.
The two parties apparently had a "constructive" conversation but came to no agreement regarding a potential contract. A two-year, $97 million deal for LeBron might have been agreed upon during the meeting. In the days that followed the story, not much was actually known about the meeting. Before now,
According to Yahoo Sports source Chris Haynes, the two parties discussed how to fix the franchise more on Thursday night than they did about LeBron's forthcoming deal.
We still don't know if that meeting convinced LeBron to try for another championship in Los Angeles.
It makes sense that before accepting a contract extension with the Lakers, LeBron would want to be certain of the team's future.

Ben Simmons addresses group chat rumors: NBA World Responds
There is never a dull day when it comes to Ben Simmons-related news.
After sitting out the entire 2021–22 season, he experienced a terrible season. When he was dealt to the Brooklyn Nets, many experts predicted that he would be fit to return, but that never happened.
Furthermore, there was a rumor that he might participate in the playoffs, but that also never happened.
In fact, Ric Bucher claims that when Simmons' teammates questioned him about playing in Brooklyn's crucial Game 4 victory over the Celtics, he left the group chat.
According to what I'm hearing, they were having a team talk before Game 4 in anticipation of him playing against the Boston Celtics, according to Bucher on The Herd. "Are you going to play?" they inquired. Ben walked away from the conversation. He didn't even respond to the query, and Kevin Durant said, "Is this the person I'm playing with?" "
