Chelsea flop Romelu Lukaku admitted he had "anger" inside of him when he opened up about his failure at Stamford Bridge and his plans for "revenge".
Lukaku returned to Inter Milan for two seasons this summer after his £97.5m move to Chelsea ended in disaster last August. The Belgium international has scored just eight Premier League goals in the 2021/22 season.
The 29-year-old fell out with boss Thomas Tuchel and angered some fans at the club when he gave an interview lamenting his move to west London last December. Chelsea hopes Inter can sign Lukaku on a permanent deal after his loan spell ends.
Lukaku has spoken about his departure from Chelsea in a new interview, telling DAZN: "The season at Chelsea gave me extra motivation to do better than before." I think in a year everyone will forget what I was able to do at Step.
"That's the kind of anger I have inside of me. Now that the team that didn't win last year has made it, let's all hope together to do better and bring something home.
“So many things [that went wrong]. I think before I left [Inter] I wanted to take revenge on Chelsea because when I was young they were my team for 11 years. I had the opportunity to go back there and I thought I would be a hero, but I didn't.
"When I heard in March that it was possible to come back here, bit by bit I didn't say anything, but towards the end of the season we did a really good job with the club and I could come back here.
"I was just reflecting at the end of the season, so after the last game I thought about my situation."
Since his move back to Italy, Lukaku has felt so comfortable and eager to show the world what he can do on the pitch.
