After winning four Premier League championships, four EFL Cups, two Community Shields, and the FA Cup under Pep Guardiola, Bernardo Silva has upheld Manchester City's record.

Manchester City's Bernardo Silva

Bernardo Silva, a winger for Manchester City, thinks Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool receive more credit than Pep Guardiola's team.

Due to their great accomplishments in previous years, City and the Reds have developed a legendary rivalry. Since his employment in July 2016, Guardiola's reigning Premier League winners have won four crowns, four EFL Cups, two Community Shields, and the FA Cup.

In contrast, Klopp joined Liverpool in October 2015 and has had comparable success. During his tenure on Merseyside, the Reds have won the Premier League title, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the Club World Cup, and the Community Shield.

Guardiola has won more trophies at City (11), but Klopp has been successful at Liverpool in more competitions (7). Guardiola has also spent twice as much on transfers as his competitor, which speaks to Klopp's success at Anfield.

Silva, meanwhile, thinks Guardiola deserves just as much praise as Klopp. The Portuguese playmaker told ESPN, "I'm not complaining here, but I feel like other clubs receive a lot more credit than Man City for accomplishing less.

"When you do something beautiful, for instance, at Benfica, a huge team in Portugal with more supporters and everything else, they make it seem fantastic. When you perform well at Manchester City, they make it appear as if you were merely average.

Bernardo Silva believes Pep Guardiola deserves just as much credit as Jurgen Klopp

Pep Guardiola, in Bernardo Silva's opinion, is just as deserving of praise as Jurgen Klopp.

"I'm not complaining, but playing in the Premier League and winning four championships in five years and knowing that we never have the most players on our team because we check the Premier League team of the year every year.

"We don't have the best players or the management, but we still manage to win four Premier League titles in five years? It's just not logical. It probably demonstrates that Man City players don't receive the proper credit. Of course, we don't receive the praise we merit."

Klopp and Guardiola have each received the LMA Manager of the Year award twice, which is generally regarded as the highest coaching honor in England. Chris Wilder, who won the accolade as Sheffield United manager in 2019 for leading his team to promotion to the Premier League, is the only person to have denied either of them in the previous five years.

Silva, who joined City in the summer of 2017, has been crucial to Guardiola's success at the Etihad, but he might not stay there for much longer. Barcelona is interested in signing him before the transfer market ends on September 1 to the Camp Nou.

Regardless of his destiny, Silva anticipates a thrilling Premier League season. Really, it's unpredictable, he said. "Of course, given what has transpired over the previous four or five seasons, you automatically assume that City and Liverpool will be the two favorites, but take a look at the roster Chelsea is assembling.

"Tottenham is improving significantly, Arsenal is improving, and now that Man United have a new manager and some new acquisitions, I believe they will improve as well. Every year, the competition grows stronger."
