The Church of Pentecost Ho Dome
Central has donated a mechanized water system to the people of Ho Dome and the
Dome EP BASIC School.
This donation forms part of the Church's Vision 2023 agenda, through the leadership of the Chairman Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye, to support communities as part of the Church's social responsibilities to possess the nation.
The Church with the Area Executives, District executives and the Dome Central Presbyters together with the chiefs and stakeholders of the Dome Community have witnessed a short commissioning ceremony on Wednesday 10th August,2022 where the facility was commissioned and handed over to the chief Togbe Dede III.
Commissioning the facility on
behalf of the Ho Area Head Apostle Dr. Dela Quampah, the Area Secretary Pastor
Cephas Akakpo said, the church is poised to possess the nation through many
social responsibilities hence needs the commitment of everyone in all aspects.
He therefore charged the school authority to ensure periodic maintenance of the project to ensure a continuous flow of water in the school.
After receiving the key to the
facility, Togbui Dede III, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the church
leadership for their timely support. According to him, the facility will help
both the Church, the community and the school in a long way.
Togbui Dede III used the opportunity
to appeal to the Church and other churches within the Ho Municipality to emulate
the kind gesture by the Church of Pentecost to help fence the school to prevent
encroachers and to protect the facility.
The Dome EP Basic School authority, who are beneficiaries, through the headmistress Mrs Vivian Agusah said, water supply was one of the numerous challenges the school faces. She recounted that, they have to spend much money to pay their water bills to the Ghana water company.
According to her, the COVID-19
pandemic and its attendant challenges worsened the already existing sanitation challenge
at the school since water became a scarce commodity to contend with.
She expressed her appreciation to
the leadership of the Church for solving one of their challenges.
She promised the facility will be
properly maintained and taken care of for next generations.
The Assembly member for the Area Hon. Anthony K. Bruce said, he will ensure the place is kept clean and that a committee will be formed to ensure the constant maintenance of the facility.
The Presiding Elder of Dome Central Emmanuel Kwame Atta Avornyo who is also an Area Executive Member, said the church is ready to support deprived Communities and schools to enable the church achieve its vision to possess the nation and to transform society through kingdom principles and values.
He added that, the mechanized water system which is being commissioned is one of the best systems but very
expensive but the Church through the approval of the District Minister Pastor
Stephen Kwesi Viku deemed it fit to support the community with it.
He therefore charged the chiefs
and the school authority to cultivate the habit of maintenance culture.
