Barcelona has begun talks with PSG about signing their forward next summer
Barcelona has begun talks with PSG to bring Lionel Messi back to the club next summer.
Messi left Barcelona for PSG in a surprise move after spending his entire career with the Spanish club.
The Argentine is widely regarded as one of, if not, the best player to ever grace a football pitch, and Barcelona's decline since his departure is no coincidence.
According to journalist Miguel Blazquez in the tweet below, Barcelona has already begun talks with Messi's representatives about a possible transfer next summer, when his contract with PSG expires.
It's unclear whether Messi would be interested in returning to Barcelona, especially with the club in financial trouble and trailing Real Madrid last season.
Messi helped PSG win the league title in his first season at the club and will be hoping to contribute again next season to help them win their first Champions League.
A front three of Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe is lethal, and Messi has a good chance of succeeding at PSG. However, the Argentine forward has a soft spot for Barcelona and it will be interesting to see if he decides to return to his former club next summer.
Rashford has entered the final year of his current contract with Manchester United to retain an option to extend his terms for a further year.
PSG have long admired the Manchester United academy graduate and want to have a replacement for Messi ready in case the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner decides to leave next summer.
Rashford has had a difficult year on the field, struggling for form and ultimately losing his place in the England squad.
Despite being a mainstay in Gareth Southgate's squad in the past, the 24-year-old is currently unlikely to make the squad for the World Cup in Qatar.
Rashford scored four Premier League goals in 25 appearances for United last season, but he has expressed a desire to regain form under new manager Erik ten Hag.
