Former Ghana Black star Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has signed a one-year contract with Accra Great Olympics.
Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu will be available for the upcoming season, providing a huge boost to the capital club's ambitions.
The move brings the player’s inactivity to an end. The 31 year-old last played competitive football with Chinese club Qingdao FC in December 2021.
He left Qingdao FC in January 2022, and it took him more than 6 months to find another club.
Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has a wealth of experience, having played at the highest levels of the football game.
He played in the Italian Serie A for Udinese for 8 years. Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has also played for Hellas Verona and Turkey's Bursaspor, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea.
Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu announced his retirement from international football in 2020. He made 78 caps for Ghana after making his senior debut in 2008.
He became a mainstay in the senior soccer team Black Stars, after thriving at the 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup in Egypt. Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu scored the winning penalty as Ghana beat Brazil with Neymar to become the first African country to win the youth competition.
He was a squad member at two World Cups and 5 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments, earning 2 silver medals.

Ghana winger Joseph Painstil will be making his 100th KRC Genk appearance on Sunday against Zulte Waregem.
The 25-year-old who joined the club in 2018 will be reaching a new milestone after a blistering start to the season.
Joseph Painstil has scored two and provided an assist in three Jupiler Pro League games.
"Our way of playing reminds me of that of the championship year. If I was not happy, I would never have stayed here for that long,” said the Attacker.
Joseph Painstil is expected to start for Genk in the game against Zulte on Sunday.
The former Tema Youth player has been an integral member of the senior soccer team the Black Stars of Ghana and was a member of the Ghana team at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Joseph Painstil's form is expected to earn him a place at the 2022 FFA World Cup in Qatar.
