Chelsea will face Tottenham in a crucial London derby after beating Everton 1-0 thanks to Jorginho, who scored a beautiful penalty in their first Premier League game.
Thomas Tuchel has a fully fit Chelsea squad to face Tottenham at Stamford Bridge, minus midfielder Mateo Kovacic. But it's up to him to keep the same squad that beat Everton or makes some changes that will help him break Antonio Conte's strong Tottenham lineup and score goals.
The 28-year-old was on the Everton bench on an opening day but struggled with a knee problem lingering in pre-season that will rule him out of the London derby.
Marcos Alonso has also been sidelined due to a move to Barcelona which saw him train alone at Cobham.
"He (Alonso) is not training at the moment and is trying to complete his transfer, so he will not be available for the game," Tuchel said. "The same goes for the injured Kova.
"He has knee problems, always a bit of a reaction. We decided to take a step back and increase treatment time to reduce the stress that comes from training so we have a normal reaction before we start again. Everything else is present."
Chelsea should have had a very similar line-up to last Saturday's 1-0 win at Goodison Park thanks to Jorginho's penalty late in the first half.
The big decisions will revolve around Ben Chilwell's fitness and whether to continue with him even though he is recovering from a serious knee injury.
Mark Cucurella could be in line for his first start and home debut in west London. Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly will be making their home debuts against Tottenham. Per the news I've gathered, I expect a lot from the starting lineup that won against Everton and this could be the expected starting lineup.
Expected Chelsea XI: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Koulibaly; James, Kante, Jorginho, Cucurella; Mountain, Havertz, Stirling
