Batshuayi had a standout season in 2016 in which he scored 23 goals and contributed 10 assists across all competitions, earning him a transfer from Marseille to Chelsea for a sum of about £33 million.
The Blues were really enthusiastic about the transfer. But not everything has turned out the way the player and the organization had hoped.

The Belgian's most memorable performance for the team was the goal that made Chelsea the 2016–17 Premier League champions. The Belgian has displayed flashes of his skill, but he hasn't been able to consistently secure a berth on the senior roster.
In 2021, the Belgian agreed to a new two-year contract and was loaned to Besiktas. He returned to Stamford Bridge after failing to make an impression in Turkey. Despite Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner departing, Batshuayi's place in Tuchel's plans is far from guaranteed.
Despite having opportunities in the preseason, the 28-year-old did not make an impression on Tuchel. The idea that Chelsea will be looking to add a forward before the transfer season closes is not incorrect.

Batshuayi will be seeking to accumulate playing time as the World Cup draws near in order to secure a spot in the Belgian World Cup squad. He will not get that guarantee if he stays at Chelsea.
It should be emphasized that Divock Origi and Romelu Lukaku, who are both set to see regular playing time in Serie A, would be competing for the same slot on the national squad with him.
