Angry Following Steve McClaren exchange, Cristiano Ronaldo avoids approaching Manchester United supporters

After Manchester United's devastating four-goal loss at Brentford, Steve McClaren, Erik ten Hag's assistant coach, asked Cristiano Ronaldo to thank the supporters.

Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee, and Bryan Mbuemo scored four goals in the first half, leaving a stunned United reeling and powerless to react. United suffered a humiliating loss, their fourth straight loss in the Premier League.

The one bright spot for the club on a day when United's flaws on the field were evident to all was the traveling support, who persisted to chant for the team despite being exposed to abuse the entire game subjected to a humbling showing from their side.

The majority of the away section stayed in the stadium until after the game was over to continue expressing their displeasure with the club's Glazer ownership. A few United players went to thank the traveling supporters after the final whistle.

At the Community Stadium, United supporters jeered the inferior Red Devils, and many criticized the late Ronaldo online for what they saw as his disrespectful behavior.

McClaren was observed coaxing the heroic traveler from Portugal to approach the indignant mob.

Instead, Ronaldo appeared to have a brief exchange of words with McClaren before hurriedly leaving the field and crossing Ten Hag's path.

Whatever you think of his predicament, it's not a good look, one fan tweeted.

David De Gea, Scott McTominay, Anthony Elanga, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Donny Van de Beek, and Diogo Dalot led a group of players that went to apologize to the United supporters who were still present.

Many United supporters were justifiably incensed with what they had witnessed from their side despite roaring their support for their team the entire game, and that group of players said they deserved the criticism.
