Wesley Fofana releases Chelsea move indication at Arsenal stadium with 'goodbye' statement to Leicester supporters

This summer, Wesley Fofana was extensively linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, and what he did at the Emirates Stadium gives a strong indication that a deal may be imminent.

Following Leicester City's 4-2 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, Wesley Fofana has given a significant indication about his future. The 21-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, and as those rumors heat up, he appears to have bid the traveling Foxes supporters farewell.

Football.london has learned that the west Londoners, who have been in negotiations with the teams this week, will submit a third and new offer for Fofana in the upcoming days.

The Frenchman might be available for £85 million, according to Brendan Rodgers' team, but Todd Boehly's upcoming bid isn't anticipated to come close to matching their asking price.

The Blues are growing more optimistic that Leicester would sell the defender even though the summer transfer window is nearing to an end. It's believed that negotiations with Fofana's representatives are still underway, with Chelsea's upper management obviously eager to close a deal.

As we approached the Leicester supporters following the final whistle in north London, a video from the crowd showed Fofana cheering. While blurry and inconclusive, the video appears to show the defender wiping his face with his shirt after placing his head into his elbow as if he were crying.

Fofana continued to take in the cheers from the traveling crowd. The child's achievement comes after Rodgers acknowledged Chelsea's initial two offers.

In the news conference on Thursday, Rodgers said that there were "two [bids], but again, nowhere like what the club would even think about. We're not looking to sell Wesley, I'll say that again. He is not a player that we are looking to replace. Naturally, the club will take into consideration any interest from other clubs. He is a top-notch young defender, though. At his age, there aren't too many around. We'd want to retain him on staff, but we'll have to wait and see what happens.
