The entire football world is agog over Tottenham Hotspur coach Antonio Conte's amusing account of his touchline altercation with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel. Following their teams' contentious 2-2 draw, both coaches were dismissed for fighting with one another.
The two managers, however, were frustrated at full-time as a result of a number of contentious choices and game-related incidents. Conte has chosen one instance from all the others and provided a funny interpretation of it.The Italian coach admitted that if he had seen Tuchel rushing along the sideline after Reece James' goal in the 77th minute, he would have loved to trip him.
Conte reacts to the touchline altercation in a humorous way.
On August 15, Antonio Conte posted a story on Instagram with a video of Thomas Tuchel rushing by him in joy following Chelsea's second goal. "Lucky I didn't see you...making you trip over would have been well deserved," he captioned his story in a hilarious way.
Conte and Tuchel provide an explanation for the post-game altercation on the sidelines.
The touchline altercation between Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte that occurred at full-time when the two coaches went to shake hands was downplayed by Tuchel at his post-game news conference. Tuchel responded, "Yes, and I believe he appreciated it as well," when asked if he enjoyed the rivalry's ferocity.
He continued by saying that he felt no animosity toward Conte, "It wasn't at all negative. I don't harbor any ill will, and I'm confident he won't either (either). We battled for our teams, and this occurs. Both dugouts are pretty close together, and since the game was so intense, it became a little heated amongst us."
However, Conte also acknowledged that he had fun with the confrontation with Tuchel and said that going future, they would need to be more careful to avoid getting suspended. The Italian coach said, "I think that what happened we did enjoy [it], but next time we pay more attention and won't shake hands, and we fix the problem. "He remains seated at his bench, and I remain seated at mine with my staff to one side. There is no issue with this. It would be unfortunate if we missed the upcoming game due to this circumstance."
