THEIR DOMINATION IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE IS EXPLAINED BY HAALAND'S DECISION TO SIGN FOR MAN CITY.

The players for Manchester City possess a trait that isn't always common at the highest level.

Erling Haaland is keen to improve all aspects of his game

Erling Haaland is motivated to do better at all facet of his game.

Manchester City has won the Premier League title in four of the last five seasons for a variety of factors.

Due to their immense fortune, they are able to sign some of the best football players in the world and provide them with top-notch facilities and one of the greatest coaches in the sport's history. But there is one element that makes those things meaningful; if you lack motivation and hunger, you won't have the opportunity to join with City because they are the two qualities that have driven the team's success.

It may sound a little wishy-washy to credit hunger and motivation for City's four Premier League championships, four League Cup victories, one FA Cup, and first-ever appearance in a Champions League final. However, these qualities were introduced to the team and have helped it become a consistent winner.

Once you reached a goal you have always desired, it would be very simple for a player to unwind and kick back. Many elite athletes have fallen from grace after reaching the pinnacle; Paul Pogba seemed to do so after France won the 2018 World Cup.

There aren't many professional players that consistently strive to get better and find fresh motivational sources. When Pep Guardiola took over as manager in 2016, he was already aware of the types of players he required, and the team swiftly caught on as well.

Erling Haaland serves as the ideal illustration of that. The £51 million striker for Borussia Dortmund is unquestionably a standout performer with 86 goals in 89 games scored before the age of 22. But City would not have approached him if it were just his talent doing the work, if he believed he was already unstoppable, and if he lacked much of a drive to get better.

In a recent interview with Alan Shearer, Haaland stated, "I think I can better anything, you know. "I consistently waste opportunities with my left foot, like I did only last weekend [against Liverpool]." If we're talking about finishing, I need to work on my headers, left foot, and right foot. So many things exist. That's what makes the game so enjoyable—you can always get better, no matter how old you are, and reach your full potential.

The 22-year-old highlighted the mentality of he and his City teammates when asked how he copes with the disappointment and annoyance of a subpar effort or an error.

But scoring or doing something in the following game is sort of motivation. When you score two goals, the same thing happens: "Oh, I want to do it again!" Therefore, it's incentive, regardless of what occurs, and that's what's excellent about it.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Bernardo expressed similar comments and acknowledged that he might not still be at City at the end of the transfer window.

We are a team that wants to look back in 20 or 30 years and be remembered as one of the best in the history of the Premier League, he said. "We know that in the last five years we won four titles," he said. "Four victories in five years is fantastic, but five victories in six years would be even better. The energy is good, we've added a few fresh signings in the last several years, and we still have room for improvement."

Guardiola is the best example of that mindset. The coach has now been at City for seven seasons, his longest tenure as a manager. However, he is still as driven as ever. "Play better and strengthen the team. I'm still here mainly because of this "When asked what drives him, he responded.

"I'm solely here to improve team play and player performance on an individual basis. I want to like the team when I see them on the sidelines. if we eventually lose the Premier Leagues. Even this squad, which has accomplished a lot of good over the past few years, cannot last forever."

When it comes to resources, City definitely have an advantage over most clubs, but one factor in their success is their passion and motivation to enhance what, to many, already seems flawless. Money cannot purchase that.
