French Ligue 1 side, FC Strasbourg are aiming to keep Ghana centre-back Alexander Djiku until the end of his contract.
The 26-year-old defender was on the verge of joining German Bundesliga side, 1899 Hoffenheim but the deal fell through despite passing a mandatory medical.
Spanish side, Sevilla and Turkish side, Besiktas expressed their interest in signing Djiku this summer.
However, Strasbourg are determined to keep the experienced defender until Djiku's contract runs out.
Djiku has featured in Strasbourg's first two games of the 2022/23 season.
Ghana international Joseph Painstil has revealed he is happy at Belgian side KRC Genk.
The 25-year-old who joined the club in 2018 marked his 100th appearance for the club after featuring in the sides 4-1 win over Zulte Waregem on Sunday in the Belgian Pro League.
He lasted the entire duration as Genk defeated the home team to pick all points at stake.
According to Painstil, he would had left Genk if he wasn’t happy at the club.
“If I wasn't happy, I wouldn't have stayed here that long,” he told Het Belang van Limburg
The Ghanaian winger has been in a blistering form this season, scoring two goals and providing an assist in four Jupiler Pro League games.
The former Tema Youth player has been an integral member of the Black Stars and was a member of the Ghana team at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 30-year-old has been clubless after leaving FC Strasbourg on July.
Waris made 16 appearances and scored 2 goals for Strasbourg last season.
With the former FC Porto forward now clubless, the forward has been offered to Nantes on a free transfer.
Waris was part of Ghana's squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil but is yet to make an appearance for the national team.
