Former Ghana black star midfielder Christian Atsu says former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan's wish should be granted if he wants to go to the FIFA 2022 QATAR World Cup.

The former Sunderland attacker is eyeing a sensational return to Black Stars for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Asamoah Gyan has been sidelined, with his last appearance for the Black Stars coming three (3) years ago.

The former Sunderland  man was a substitute in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 clash against Tunisia.

He’s since not been invited with his club career in recent years making it very difficult to consider him for selection.

Asamoah Gyan last played a competitive game in May 2021, representing Legon Cities against WAFA in a Ghana Premier League match. Months later He terminated his contract with the Accra based club and is still looking for a new one to play for.

The former Al Ain and sunderland man hasn't been active for 16 months, leading many to believe that he’s retired. But in an interview with British Broadcasting Co-operation, Asamoah Gyan (Baby Jet) dispelled claims of retirement, suggesting he has some unfinished business especially with the senior national team the Black Stars of Ghana.

Christian Atsu who played at the 2015 AFCON final with Asamoah Gyan has called on the Ghana Football Association and Black Stars technical team to grant the wish of the Ghana legend. Asamoah Gyan has played at all three FIFA World Cup tournament appearances by Ghana between 2006 and 2014 scoring Ghana’s first ever goal at the World stage..

He is the top scoring player in Africa at the FIFA Mundial after scoring six goals for the Black Stars.

OGC Nice manager Lucien Favre has opened up on the French Ligue 1 side's move to get the signature of RSC Anderlecht forward Francis Amuzu this summer.

The 22 year-old Ghanaian-Belgian forward has been linked with a move away from Anderlecht to France to continue his career.

The Belgians are keen on keeping the winger at the club as they see him to be an important player this season following the departure of Sergio Gomez who is joining Manchester City.

Nice are said to have offered £10 million to sign the Ghanaian winger and reports suggested Amuzu is set to undergo his medical examination this week so as to complete his transfer.

Favre said negotiations between the club and the player are in the right direction but much will depend on the attacker who will decide on his future.

"It seemed to be going in the right direction with Francis Amuzu, but today I do not know if it will be okay. It is the winger himself who will have the last word," He said.

"Sometimes players do want to come at some point, but later change their mind."

Francis Amuzu had an impressive campaign with Anderlecht last season hit double figures in goal scoring. He netted 10 goals and provided 5 assists in 46 matches in all competitions.

He is up and running in the 2022/2023 campaign after netting twice in four matches in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League.
