Heavy police security has been conveyed to the University of Ghana following a dissent by understudy inhabitants of the Commonwealth Hall on Tuesday morning.

The dissent by the understudies followed an administration choice to suspend the Hall Master and Senior Tutor of the Commonwealth Hall after understudies of the corridor were associated with a rough conflict with understudies from the Mensah Sarbah Hall on August 5, 2022.

"The Hall Master and Senior Tutor of Commonwealth Hall have not displayed adequate eagerness and capacity to consider understudies of the lobby responsible for their activities in the new vicious conflicts.

"These officials ought to, in this manner, in the meantime, be feeling better of their obligations while the board works with the security administrations to research the conflicts and work towards tracking down enduring answers for the strains between understudies of the two corridors," portions of an assertion gave by the administration of the college read.

Following the declaration of the choice by the administration of the University of Ghana, understudy inhabitants of the Commonwealth Hall on Tuesday left on a dissent against the suspensions.

The understudies clad in red and dark clothing types in the midst of drumming, singing and moving, requested the restoration of their Hall Master and Senior Tutor.

At the point when GhanaWeb columnists showed up on the grounds of the University on Tuesday morning, a group of a few furnished cops had been sent to the corridor.

Recordings from the corridor blocked by GhanaWeb show a few of the outfitted cops taking a situation in segments of the Commonwealth Hall.
