NEVILLE'S REMARKS DEMONSTRATE HOW GUARDIOLA OUTTHOUGHT JURGEN KLOPP WITH THE TRANSFER TO MAN CITY.

On Monday night, Darwin Nunez was expelled for a headbutt, and Erling Haaland keeps getting better.

Erling Haaland was the subject of Gary Neville's eulogy before the campaign started.

Even Gary Neville and his traffic light system would find it difficult to stop Pep Guardiola's illustrious reign at Manchester City from continuing in a progressive trajectory. During his illustrious career as a manager, Guardiola has essentially transformed everything he has touched into gold, or at the very least goals.

On Monday night, Neville rated the moves made by his beloved Manchester United since legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson left the team following their most recent championship victory in 2013. Neville took center stage in the Sky Sports studio. But even for a devoted United supporter like Neville, there was too much red.

The fact that only two new players—Bruno Fernandes and Zlatan Ibrahimovic—fit into the green category essentially sums up how the situation has changed in this illustrious footballing metropolis. There may not have been any need for the failure category at all if he had been obliged to assess the business successes made by Guardiola since his arrival in 2016.

Regardless of the resources at Guardiola's disposal, spending power is abundant throughout the Premier League and does not, as Neville pointed out, ensure quality hiring. While forming their prize duopoly, City and Liverpool have succeeded there, though Guardiola seems to have surpassed Jurgen Klopp this summer.

Haaland opened his City account with a first-half penalty

Erling Haaland, who City acquired from Borussia Dortmund, helped them win the goal-scoring lottery after beating Liverpool to a fourth championship in five years. Every move made by those two is still scrutinized minutely, thus Liverpool retaliated with their own high-profile bid for Darwin Nunez.

However, there is one significant distinction that may be seen with the unaided eye. Neville's remarks further emphasize it as Haaland tries to capitalize on his three-game lead in the competition for this year's Golden Boot.

"I find it impossible to see how Haaland could ever be anything less than amazing. Perhaps a remote possibility exists that, for some reason, either Haaland's or City's styles don't complement each other. There aren't those risks that are often discussed with a significant signing. It must succeed for me."

Before Haaland had even started playing in the Premier League, Neville waxed poetic about the Norwegian striker. Although Nunez scored against Liverpool in the Community Shield, the Sky Sports pundit was confident in his prediction, and that 'promise' was upheld on Monday night.

Before scoring twice against West Ham on the first day, he may have put Haaland in the green category first. Nunez was sent off for Liverpool during a flashpoint, giving City an early lead in the title race. After two games, Guardiola and his all-star squad now lead Liverpool by four points.

Erling Haaland scored twice against West Ham in his Premier League debut.

Although there is still a long way to go before it will matter in the struggle for Premier League supremacy, Haaland does have an advantage in his own endeavor. Without the guy hired to lead their own objectives, Liverpool is attempting to regain ground that has been lost during his three-game run to potentially fill his shoes.

Neville continued: "Isn't this a moment of insanity? We observed his aggressive nature in the first few games. It's a concern now because he won't play the following week and they'll miss him for a few games."

Despite Liverpool's poor start, their rivalry with City shows no signs of stopping down, and the upcoming seasons will see an interesting side story between Nunez and Haaland. However, it appears that Klopp has something with the feisty Uruguayan that needs to be fixed, while Guardiola can simply concentrate on molding his City team so that Haaland can do what he does best. As Neville mentioned, there aren't many risks at all.
