The newly elected president of the Assemblies of God promises to rebrand and reposition the church in order to achieve massive growth.

Rev Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, the newly-elected General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, has promised to restore, reform, rebrand, and reposition the church in order to achieve massive growth and development.

He stated that his administration will provide visionary and progressive leadership based on integrity, shift, speed, and open heavens, as well as fulfillment of the Great Commission, in order to make their promises a reality.

Rev Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengam was elected to lead the church at the Assemblies of God church's 30th biennial General Council Meeting, which took place at the University of Cape Coast on Thursday, August 4, 2022.

He succeeded Rev Professor Yaw Frimpong-Manso, who had led the church for 12 years.

Rev Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, speaking to Newsmen in an interview, stated that the church, which was the first Pentecostal Church in Ghana to establish a Bible School, a Radio Ministry, and use social action activities to win souls and transform communities, will continue to live by it.

"With the help of the Great Restorer, Assemblies of God, Ghana will be restored to the position of the leading, not a leading, Pentecostal Church in Ghana," he said in his vision dubbed "Transformation Agenda."

"By the grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, my administration promises to deliver visionary and progressive leadership anchored on integrity, shift, speed, open heavens, and fulfillment of the Great Commission," he said.

"Our church is destined for greatness." We are destined for greatness. And we assert our greatness with both hands. Remember, we are Azusa Street Revival products, and we will remain so, said the former Lead Pastor of Cedar Mountain International Church in Accra.

"To that end, I call on all of our Executive Presbytery members, national officers, headquarters staff, pastors, and local congregations to help us build bridges of unity across the country." Solid unity will lay the groundwork for the superstructure to stand and glorify God Almighty," he concluded.
