Manchester United are interested in signing out-of-favour Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic on a season-long loan, and the player is willing to relocate to Old Trafford.
According to reports, Manchester United want to sign Chelsea winger and US international captain Christian Pulisic on a season-long loan.
Pulisic not a first starter for the Blues this season, as the club made Raheem Sterling their first signing of the summer in a £47.5 million deal from Manchester City. The departures of Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku were expected to give the American more starting opportunities this season, but this has yet to happen, with the club keen on signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona.
The 23-year-old alone has started 50 Premier League games in his three seasons at Stamford Bridge, with 13 starts last summer. Pulisic has emerge off the bench in both of Chelsea's league games this season.
Pulisic trails Sterling, Kai Havertz, and Mason Mount - though the futures of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech are both uncertain, and Chelsea want to sign Everton's Anthony Gordon. However, the player is aiming for regular first-team football ahead of the World Cup in Qatar this winter, despite being used in an unfamiliar wing-back role in west London.
According to The Athletic, United want to bring the US international to Old Trafford on loan, and they have been told that the player is open to the move, preferring the Red Devils over other interested clubs such as Newcastle and Juventus.
Pulisic has admitted publicly that he grew up rooting for the Red Devils: "When I was younger, I was a huge Manchester United fan. I used to enjoy watching Rooney. But I wouldn't classify myself as a similar player. I believe his enthusiasm for the game is unusual among players. That was something I admired about him."
Pulisic told ESPN FC about Sterling's arrival at Stamford Bridge earlier this summer and the competitive pressures: "Great quality." We're really looking forward to it. The best part about working at a club like this is the constant competition. We all thrive on competing against one another in training, and getting to play with one another is just another great addition to the team.
