Marc Cucurella, a new acquisition for Chelsea, discussed his decision to bypass Premier League winners Manchester City in favor of a move to Stamford Bridge in an interview that was posted on Football.London.
Cucurella was acquired by Chelsea for £60 million from Brighton & Hove Albion just days before the start of the current Premier League season. He came off the bench in the opening contest against Everton and started the London derby match against Tottenham Hotspur.
The 24-year-old displayed strong play in the contest, helping Kalidou Koulibaly score the game's opening goal with an assist. Other than that, he was a reliable forward outlet and a strong defender.

Here is what the player said in regards to passing on City:
There were many rumors over the hectic summer. I believed it was a good time for me to move to a major league club when I was playing for Brighton in the summer, and I consider Chelsea to be a major league team. They were extremely interested in me all summer, so I'm very delighted to be here.
A question about Cucurella's preferred field position was also posed. The Spaniard admitted right away that he enjoys playing anywhere on the left side, but he prefers to play left back because there is where he started out and played for the academies.
Although the 24-year-old began his Chelsea career as a left wing-back, there is a chance he might also be utilized as a left-sided center-back.

The 24-year-talent old's and versatility allow him to play in a variety of positions, which raises the level of quality he can bring to this Chelsea team. Additionally, he is at an age where his prime years are still ahead of him, which is great news for the Blues and their fans.
The fact that this player chose not to join Manchester City should make Thomas Tuchel and the team delighted because it would have made the Champions even more dominant than they already are.
