Vanderson , Hakimi, Malo Gusto: Barcelona interested with three more right-backs & Xavi’s four important players for this season
Barcelona continues to be linked with right-backs as more names surface in the final weeks of the transfer season.
Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain and Malo Gusto of Olympique Lyon are reportedly now targets in addition to Vanderson of Monaco.
Given that Hakimi only joined PSG a year ago for a sum of €60 million, he appears an odd contender. A lending agreement with a buyout option has been mentioned.
Gusto is reportedly a favorite of Manchester United and Barcelona in France. According to L'Equipe, Lyon wants to prolong his contract but could sell if a decent offer comes in.
Vanderson is the third name that has come up. According to Diario Sport, Mateu Alemany is already investigating and has made inquiries about his availability.
Vanderson, who joined Monaco from Gremio at the age of 21, has already made an impression and possesses the type of full-back profile Barcelona is seeking for.
Due to their continued financial problems, Barca is rumored to be seeking for a cheap option at right-back after losing Dani Alves and with Sergino Dest reportedly not an option for Xavi.
Barcelona's four essential players this season, according to Xavi
Barcelona's poor season opener came last Saturday as Rayo Vallecano held them to a scoreless draw at Spotify Camp Nou.
After defeating Barça at home and on the road last year, Rayo was taking points away from the Catalans for the third straight encounter. With a challenging matchup against Real Sociedad away at the Anoeta coming up, the Blaugrana will have to up their game.
And as he seeks his first victory of the year, manager Xavi Hernandez will count on his key players to come up and perform.
The 42-year-old club icon will rely on all of his players, but four stars in particular, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Ronald Araujo, Pedri, and Robert Lewandowski, who are thought to be the major component of the manager's plans, according to Achraf Ben Ayad, will be crucial to his success.
Ter Stegen produced some crucial stops in the match against Rayo Vallecano last weekend and is gradually returning to his best self
.
Regarding Araujo, switching him to the right back position last time out did not go as planned, therefore Xavi would be wise to use the Uruguayan in his starting lineup this time around. However, with Sergino Dest out of favour, the ex-Boston River ace could continue at right-back until a new player is signed.
