As long as Manchester United and Real Madrid can reach an agreement, Casemiro will play in the Premier League, according to Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.
In an interview prior to Real Madrid's match against Celta Vigo, Ancelotti was questioned about the rumors involving the Brazilian player and a transfer. Diario AS obfuscated his remarks.
"I discussed it with him. The club is aware of his desire to take on a fresh challenge. You have to respect that wish because of what Casemiro has done and who he is.
He continues to be an outcast, but there are conversations taking place; it is not yet official. We have the means to replace him if he does.
Ancelotti was questioned about if he tried to convince Casemiro to stay with the team, but he showed respect for his decision.
I considered his wishes and intentions; there is no going back.
Additionally, he disqualified him from their match against Vigo barring a breach in the agreement.
He won't travel to Vigo if the talks carry on.
Casemiro has spent nine years at Real Madrid, including one year on loan at Porto. Los Blancos will undoubtedly miss Casemiro's leadership in the middle of the park. But as Ancelotti later noted, Real Madrid has a strong midfield that can fill in for him. Carlo Ancelotti believed on Thursday evening that he could convince Casemiroto change his firm decision to join Manchester United this summer.
Casemiro and Ancelotti did speak on Friday morning at Valdebebas before the final training session ahead of the match against Celta Vigo.
The relationship between the two men goes beyond that of a player and his coach. Ancelotti once again conveyed his absolute confidence in Casemiro in his last attempt to turn the situation around.
After the meeting, the midfielder went back to being a professional and showing his commitment to Real Madrid, working out along with his teammates.
The coach once again stressed to Casemiro how important he can be during the current season. In the coach's mind nothing has changed beyond having a wider range of players to choose from.
For Ancelotti, the Brazilian midfielder is special, different and an extension of him on the pitch.
