Some Nigerian citizens based in Dubai who are now stranded due to mass deportation in Dubai have called on the Nigerian government for help.

Several videos showing those affected by the mass deportation exercise and their luggage are currently making rounds on the internet.

A Nigerian lady, who spoke in one of the videos, expressed her displeasure with the Nigerian embassy in Dubai for failing to represent Nigerian citizens in the process.

She then asked if there was a functional embassy or active ambassador in the country because they are yet to see anyone.

She further revealed that some deported Nigerians who had valid international passports were granted a pass by Dubai authorities and are waiting for airplanes to bring them back to Nigeria.

However, those without a valid passport, are still waiting for a temporary pass from the Nigerian embassy which seems not to be working.

Photos of people who allegedly participated in a violent protest in the West African country last week, were released by the local police recently.

Quite surprisingly, among the people who were featured in the photos was late Nigerian rapper, Dagrin with a gun hung around his neck.

A Twitter user @Jeen_Yous who resides in Sierra Leone shared the poster on the micro-blogging platform. The user wrote,

”The Sierra Leone Police release Pictures of wanted people who were part of the violent protest last week and late Nigerian rapper Dagrin is one of them.

This country will always amaze me,”

The late Dagrin died from complications arising from injuries he sustained in a ghastly motor accident when he ran into a stationary truck around 3 am at Mushin in Lagos.

He died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH on Wednesday, April 22, 2010.

A suspect, whose name is yet to be revealed, has been arrested in Kano State with an Army uniform, a rifle, and ammunition.

DailyTrust reports that the suspect had been disguising as an army officer, with the name tag M.A Ibrahim to extort money from people along the popular BUK road in the state metropolis.

A resident of the community who spoke on condition of anonymity said the suspect was living in the Danbare area of BUK and had been telling people that he was a captain in the Nigerian Army.

The suspect was arrested on Thursday, August 18, after he forcefully secured the release of his girlfriend, who was arrested by Hisbah officials. He was said to have shot into the air at the Hisbah office and freed her.

“You know Hisbah officials come here to arrest ladies that come to take drugs and do other indecent things. So they arrested his girlfriend and took her to their office. When he got to the Hisbah office here in Danbere, he fired shots into the air more than three times and went away with her.

We then reported to the police and the army here in Janguza barracks. When we sent them his pictures, they realized that he is not an army officer and directed that whenever we see him we should call them. When we saw his car parked at one filling station, we immediately called them and they arrested him'' an eyewitness told the publication
