Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has responded to Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi transfer speculation
Thomas Tuchel has addressed the media ahead of Chelsea's Premier League match against Leeds United on Sunday afternoon.
Thomas Tuchel has downplayed speculation about Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-futures. Odoi's Both players have been heavily linked with moves away from Chelsea before the summer transfer window closes.
This week, Pulisic has been linked to Manchester United and football.
The USA international wants to leave Stamford Bridge, according to London. Similarly, Hudson-Odoi, who is being courted by a number of clubs in England and abroad, is looking for a move away.
"I know there's a lot of talk," Tuchel said of speculation about his players' futures.
"We had two training sessions with 18 players as part of a weekly schedule. We have what we have, we know what we want, and only from there can we consider players leaving."
Tuchel was also asked if there are any more incomings scheduled to arrive before the deadline in less than two weeks. There are ongoing talks to sign Wesley Fofana and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but Tuchel did not want to dwell on rumors.
Tuchel responded when asked if he was concerned about the lack of incomings: "No, I was the polar opposite of frustrated after last week's game. After last week's performance, I'm very pleased and confident." We collaborate, as I previously stated, we work together about the reinforcements but it is never easy and it's not like we can wish for something and it happens. There are options as long as the transfer window is open. The emphasis is on what we have rather than what we could have. The team has my undivided attention."
Man United have been forced to consider other forward options as Chelsea remain steadfast in their pursuit of Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech, with Todd Boehly and Thomas Tuchel only willing to sanction loan moves on one condition.
The Blues are expected to be one of the busiest sides in Europe for the remainder of the summer transfer window, both in terms of incoming and outgoing players. Significant steps must be taken amid strong rumours that Boehly is willing to sanction a £150 million 'gold rush' involving Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Wesley Fofana, Frenkie de Jong, and Anthony Gordon, significant moves need to happen on the outgoings to balance the books.
Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku, Malang Sarr, and others have already left, but more are expected to leave through the Stamford Bridge exit doors. Despite an initial breakdown in negotiations for Emerson Palmieri's move to West Ham, football.london understands that talks are still ongoing. Further up the pitch, Ziyech and Pulisic want more regular game time, particularly the latter, who has been encouraged to go on loan in order to gain more regular first-team minutes in preparation for Qatar 2022.
