Nine students have been arrested in connection with the Conti and Katanga skirmishes.
Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested nine students in connection with the latest clash at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology between Katanga and Unity Hall (Conti) (KNUST).
According to MyNewsGh.com, a fight broke out on the campus of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology on Thursday between Katanga Hall and Unity Hall (KNUST).
Property worth billions of Ghana Cedis was destroyed as a result of the clash.
One Community Police officer was headbutted as a result of the clash between the two halls, according to the police, and is currently receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, 9 people have been arrested as a result of a joint effort between the police and campus security.
The police, in collaboration with campus security, have begun an investigation into the chaos on the school's campus.

All forms of student celebrations on the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) campus have been halted by the school's administration.
According to a School statement signed by the Registrar, all hall week and Student Representative Council celebrations have been canceled indefinitely.
Apart from Hall weeks and other SRC celebrations, all gatherings leading up to morale and procession have been put on hold indefinitely.
The school's administration has decided to conduct random checks on vehicles entering and exiting the campus.
The latest move is related to Thursday's skirmishes between Katanga and Conti Halls, which resulted in injuries to some students and the destruction of property, particularly cars.

Professor Kofi Agyekum, Dean of the School of Performing Arts at the University of Ghana, has sought to bolster Ghanaians' faith in the country's future development.
Professor Kofi Agyekum, popularly known as 'Opanyin Agyekum,' said on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' show that he is sometimes tempted to join people in lamenting and despair about the country.
He was even more concerned about some illegal activities taking place in the country involving politicians and people in positions of power.

Illegal mining, also known as 'galamsey' in local parlance, was one of the illegal activities mentioned during the 'kokrokoo' program.
He was disgusted by the total disregard for the negative impact of galamsey on Ghana's economy, as well as the President's efforts to stamp out this illegality.
Opanyin Agyekum, on the other hand, stated that, despite all of the negative economic behavior, "I believe Ghana will be better again."
