Ajax is preparing for Antony's transfer to Man Utd by pursuing a Premier League loan move.
Antony is Manchester United's favorite target in the final few days of the summer transfer window, and Ajax appear to be surrendered to losing the Brazilian.
If Antony completes his long-awaited move to Manchester United, Ajax are reportedly planning a move for Chelsea flop Hakim Ziyech.
As Erik ten Hag seeks to bolster his attacking options, the Brazilian is one of United's top targets. However, a deal has proven difficult to complete, with Ajax unwilling to let their star winger leave the Johan Cruyff Arena.
The Red Devils were reported to have failed with a £67 million bid for the 22-year-old last week, though they could make an improved offer. If he does join Manchester United, he will leave a void in Alfred Schreuder's squad.
The Eredivisie club will almost sure look to fill this void, and they may turn to a former player to do so. If Antony leaves, Ajax will focus on bringing Ziyech back to Amsterdam, according to De Telegraaf.
It is stated that their primary intent is to introduce the opponent back in on a loan with a buy option. He joined Chelsea in 2020, but has since fallen down the Chelsea pecking order.
He appears to have no place in Thomas Tuchel's plans, having been benched in both of their two Premier League games so far. Before joining the Blues, the Moroccan had a successful four-year stint at Ajax.
In 165 games for the Dutch giants, he scored 49 goals and assisted on an incredible 81 others. This enabled them to win the Eredivisie, the KNVB Cup, and reach the Champions League semi-finals.
However, a return to Ajax will almost certainly be contingent on Antony joining United, which appears to be in the works. In recent days, the Brazilian has made an effort to push through a departure, praising Ten Hag.
"What I can say is that I want to make the best decision possible for my family, business partners, and Ajax." "I am very happy at Ajax; I have a contract until the summer of 2025, and I will give everything for this beautiful club every second of every day," he said.
"If we all agree that I should stay here, I know it's the best thing for both me and the club." It's not like I have to go anywhere. Now I'm concentrating on football and have delegated all other responsibilities to my agents and my brother. They will advise me on the best course of action.
"Erik has been extremely important to me." I am grateful to him and wish him the best of luck. After working so closely with Erik, I will always root for him. I haven't been able to celebrate or cheer for him because he hasn't yet received any points.
I couldn't until now, which makes me sad. However, knowing Erik, I am confident that he will.
