Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang received a harsh warning from Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel pushes for a 22 million deal
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the target of Chelsea's intense pursuit, and the club has now been forewarned about the possibility of signing the 33-year-old forward.
Frank Lebouef, a former defender for Chelsea, has issued a warning to his former team over the possibility of luring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang away from Barcelona this summer. As football.london reported on Thursday, the Blues made a 22 million offer for the 33-year-old on Wednesday evening.
Thomas Tuchel, who coached Aubameyang while at Borussia Dortmund, is eager to work with him again. Despite the striker's disciplinary concerns while at Arsenal, Tuchel is a tremendous fan and has not been put off.
The 'Arsenal: All or Nothing' documentary's Mikel Arteta discussed how the former Gunners captain accumulated a "file" of conduct issues. But Tuchel and the Gabon international reportedly shared a "strong bond."
Chelsea and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a striker for Barcelona, may bring him back to the Premier League.
Added him: "He and I had no problems, but this has nothing to do with the circumstances at Arsenal, on which I will likewise refrain from commenting out of respect. There was never an issue in Dortmund."
If he does really fix Chelsea's goal-scoring woes, 33-year-old Aubameyang is a temporary fix. However, there is a perception that Chelsea will search for a long-term replacement in the form of Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig being floated about in recent days.
Aubameyang established himself as one of the Premier League's most lethal strikers while playing for Arsenal. However, in his final season with the team, he had trouble maintaining consistency in front of goal, which has led Lebouef to wonder if he will fit in well at Stamford Bridge.
In a news conference last week, the Chelsea head coach discussed Aubameyang and said: "Although it has nothing to do with what is now occurring, I really liked working with Auba while I was at Dortmund. Some players stick with you because you were so close. And one of those players is Auba." This intimate friendship was always present from the beginning. In a manner, they continue to be your players."
Added him: "I didn't have any problems with him, but this has nothing to do with the situation at Arsenal, about which I will also not comment out of respect. In There was never a problem in Dortmund."

"He's over 30, and the previous two years haven't been great for him in terms of goals and consistency," ESPN FC was informed by the former Chelsea defender, through Squawka. I greatly appreciate his father, a former teammate, for what he has accomplished. Pierre-career Emerick's in Dortmund and afterwards Arsenal was something I followed. He's a great player, but I need to see first. It relies on Tuchel's choice and preferred style of play. I don't think it will work and having Aubameyang won't be helpful if it's like against Spurs with the rotation up front and we don't know who plays in the middle or on the side.
"If you play with a real striker and serve him, like you should have played with Lukaku, it may be interesting. But as we saw with Lukaku last year, that didn't happen, so why would Tuchel suddenly alter his preferred style of play? I'm not sure. I don't expect it to happen. I doubt that Aubameyang will be able to escape the plague that has recently afflicted all Chelsea strikers. I'm hoping for his success, but I want to wait and see first.
