According to reports, Serge Aurier, a former defender at Tottenham Hotspur, is attractive to Nottingham Forest.

After been released by Villarreal in Spain earlier this summer, the Ivory Coast international is now available on a free transfer.

Although Aurier assisted the Spanish team in reaching the Champions League semifinal, they decided against long-term contract negotiations.

Additionally, Nottingham Forest, the newest members of the Premier League, are reportedly interested in bringing the 29-year-old back to England, according to reports in France.

Before being released in August, the former Paris Saint-Germain right-back spent four years on Tottenham's books.

According to the source, Steve Cooper's organization is the most alluring offer Aurier has received, with Nantes and Reims also showing interest.

This would be Forest's second prominent addition.

The amount Nottingham Forest has spent is

This summer, Cooper has made no fewer than 16 signings, including this week's £42 million acquisition of Morgan Gibbs-White.

According to reports that the recently promoted team spent £145 million on players this summer.

Massive investment has been made to ensure that they remain in the Premier League after their first season back in the top flight, so signing someone like Aurier who has local expertise could be a wise choice.

There is no denying that Aurier has faced criticism over the years, but Pep Guardiola described him as "very good and swift" last year, and coming from a manager of his caliber, it is undoubtedly a plus for the Ivorian.
