Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan aka baby jet has disclosed that his decision to join Al Ain was the best of his career. 

Asamoah Gyan made a fortune after joining the Gulf giants, using part of the move money  to create opportunities for Ghanaians.

The 36 year-old forward was heavily criticized for leaving the English Premier League at his prime to sign for Al Ain, but Asamoah Gyan insists it is a decision he never regrets.

“Moving to Al Ain football club was the best decision I made in my Career, the amount of money that I got I have made investments, I’ve created employments," he said ‘on the Dentaa Show.


“I’ve created employment for the same people who were insulting me. I pay taxes also," he said.

Baby jet  won several trophies at Al Ain, including three (3) UAE Pro League titles and the UAE President Cup.

He was also named the BBC African Player of the Year in (2010) after a magnificent World Cup in South Africa.

Legendary Ghanaian striker, Asamoah Gyan (baby Jet) has revealed that he was asked to take a break from playing football by doctors following his persistent injuries at Legon Cities football club. 

The former Ghana captain made only five (5) appearances for the Royals during an ill-fated second stint in the domestic topflight.

According to Asamoah Gyan, injuries hindered his stay at Legon Cities forcing him to take a break from the sport.

However the 36 year-old man is preparing for a likely return to the senior team the Black Stars of Ghana ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.


"When I was at Legon Cities FC, I battled with injuries. Anytime I am in form and I tell my people this week I feel good and I’m  going to net goals then I get injured then I go back for another two months," Baby jet told Dentaa.

"I went for check ups and the doctor said my muscles are very tired. So I needed a very long break to make sure everything heals because it looked like my body was very stressed, my body was tired," he said.

Asamoah Gyan (baby jet) last has not played competitive football since leaving Legon Cities football club in April 2021.
