Jurgen Klopp discusses what he told Bruno Fernandes after Manchester United defeated Liverpool.

Liverpool lost 2-1 to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday evening, and their managerwas seen speaking with Fernandes after the game.

Jurgen Klopp downplayed the importance of his comment conversation with Bruno Fernandes after Liverpool were crushed at Old Trafford by Manchester United.

The Reds manager was seen speaking with United's Portuguese star after his team was defeated on Monday night, when goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford gave United a commanding 2-0 lead on a night when their fans protested the Glazer family's ownership.

Liverpool attempted to respond in the second half, but all they got was a late Mohamed Salah header.

Klopp entered the field at complete and was seen conversing with Fernandes, but the German denied that it was a 'video' one, rather than asserting it was easily Lisandro Martinez wasting time.

"It wasn't created; this was the most innocuous conversation I've ever had with a player, who is obviously as animated as me at times," Klopp said after the game.

"It was about Martinez, who went down under what was undoubtedly not a bad tackle."

Klopp elaborated on his team's defeat to BBC Sport, saying: "The game started exactly as everyone expected, as United fans expected, with them chasing us. They started slightly more aggressively than us; they could play the game they wanted better than we could.

"They won, and we were forced to defend differently, but that's how goals work. We were there in the second half of the first half and caused them problems. We had a lot of opportunities.

"We showed the boys at half - time a bunch of instances where we did really well and would like to do it again, but then we given the late goal. Then we have to chase the damn game, and you can get in a hurry.

"We scored a goal that we deserved at the time, and then you have to force it; we tried, but in the end, we were not good enough, and that is why we lost.

"I don't have very many reasons because we lost the game. We can turn it around another day, with more conviction in what we're doing. That is the case.

"We want to fight in order to play the football that we are capable of playing. On Saturday, we have a big home game, and Anfield should be packed. We must start the fire and the rhythm.

"We will try everything that every Liverpool fan expects - we will fight for our lives."
