Erik ten Hag has been acquired by Manchester United five times, and with the summer transfer window only hours away from closing, they are about to complete a sixth.

Erik ten Hag feels that Manchester United still needs Cristiano Ronaldo.

Erik ten Hag appeared to imply that the club's transfer business was concluded during his press conference on Friday. Martin Dubravka will become the sixth player to join Manchester United today, bringing the total number of signings to five. The Dutchman did, however, also say that they will be "active," so additional reinforcements aren't necessarily ruled out.

Manchester United thinks the window for transfers is closed.

The Red Devils have improved their team after a sluggish start by adding players like Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, and Antony.

Dubravka is expected to arrive from Newcastle today, and the Slovakian international is ready to compete with David De Gea for a starting position.

And on Friday, Ten Hag said: "I believe so; I believe this window's end.

Aaron [Wan-Bissaka] is going inside. With this squad, we'll operate from September through at least January.

Intriguingly, Ten Hag didn't completely discount business, either. He wants his recruitment staff to be prepared in case the ideal candidate were to become available.

Prior to his team's Premier League matchup with Leicester, the 52-year-old noted, "But when there is opportunity you have to be always alert."

New signings are doubtful, although it doesn't seem completely impossible that some late business may occur.

Sergino Dest, a USA international who had previously played for Ajax under Ten Hag, wanted to transfer from Barcelona to the Red Devils.

The 21-year-old right defender, who has also drawn interest from La Liga team Villarreal, is reportedly set to join AC Milan on loan.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was expected to remain, according to Ten Hag, despite rumors that he was considering moves to Crystal Palace and Barcelona.

Thus, despite having conversations about a potential deal, United hasn't made a significant push for Dest for this reason.

Should the dominoes begin to fall, United would make a move for Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong.

Everyone knows how much the Red Devils adore the 25-year-old, unless they've been living on the moon, which, given the current state of the economy, could be the best place to be right now.

Ten Hag, who formerly managed the midfielder at Ajax, has spent the entire summer hoping for a reunion with De Jong, one of the best players in the world.

However, the midfielder has been hesitant to leave Barcelona. Nothing suggests otherwise at this late stage.

However, if De Jong were to suggest that he would be open to moving to United, the Red Devils would pay the transfer fee without a second thought.

And this after spending £60,000,000 on Casemiro only last month.

If Cristiano Ronaldo left, United might realistically move quickly to sign a winger because the Portugal international spent the most of the summer trying to leave.

However, Ten Hag emphasized on Friday that the 37-year-old was only expected to remain until the beginning of January.

When asked how many times he had spoken to the United forward, he replied, "Several times, sure." "We have the same perspective. If he didn't want to stay, he wouldn't be here.

Overall, it appears that United's business is finished.

However, reinforcements can't be fully ruled out considering the chaotic nature of transfer deadline day.

Ten Hag also asserted that United's investment demonstrates their desire, and he added that Ronaldo was content to be at Old Trafford.

It's a signal, yeah, but all the major Premier League clubs have made significant investments, so it's the market, he added.

"We have stated from the beginning that we have planned with Ronaldo, that we are pleased with him, that he is thrilled to be here, and that we both want to make this season successful.

"It's obvious that we've improved the team. As a manager, you're always looking for more, so I also have to demonstrate the qualities I expect of my players.

"I always try to maximize, but eventually you have to be happy with what you have.

"Then, in order to make the team stronger and more reliable and to contribute more high-quality work, it is also important to focus on individual and team growth.

"That is what we are working toward right now, myself, my coaches, and our team's unity."
