A MANIFESTO DELIVERED BY MISS TUDZI COMFORT ON THE 2ND SEPTEMBER 2022 AT LETSA KORBA HALL AS AN ASPIRANT FOR THE POSITION OF STUDENTS REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL 'S (SRC) WOMEN'S COMMISSIONER.
Mr. Chairman, the Principal, the Vice Principal, the Dean of Students, Staff Present, Chairman of the electoral commission, SRC Executives, Fellow trainees, co-aspirants, Ladies and Gentlemen, all protocols highly observed, Good evening. The only power for success is self-discipline, believing yourself that you can do it, believing that you deserve it and believing you can get there. I deemed it a great honour to be called upon to deliver my manifesto before this noble house. My name is Miss Tudzi Comfort, a level two hundred student teacher of Akatsi College of Education offering Home economics and Agriculture Science. I present myself before you this evening to share my manifesto as an aspirant for the position of SRC Women's Commissioner.
Mr. Chairman, to begin with I first of all congratulate Miss Dadoho Celestine for the great job done so far. She has been an inspiration. Now, who is a leader? A leader is a person with a vision who ensures that his or her followers has supports and tools to achieve their goals. Leadership, Leadership is the act of motivating a group of people to act towards achieving a common goal.
Firstly, Mr. Chairman, when the mandate is given to me, I shall be the main spokesperson for and on behalf of all female students in the college especially in a cases of abusing, infringing upon their rights in any way. With the help of SRC, I will make sure that students stop carrying chairs up and down during classes hours before learning by helping to repair the broken chairs. Mr. Chairman, I will also empower women at all level to develop their natural abilities (calmness, fairness, confidence, flexibility, compassion etc.) to their fullest potentials, equip them to excel as leaders of their workplaces and communities across all the sphere of society. Mr. Chairman, ""there is a saying that all work and no play make Jack a dull boy, all play and no work make Jack a lazy boy there is time to play and there is time to work"" When the mandate is given to me, with the help of the sports committees, I will make sure that every last Saturdays in a month we have aerobics for both men and women to keep my females active and healthy.
Secondly, Mr. Chairman, together with the help of female tutors and other executives on campus, we will form an entrepreneurship team which will aim at training both men and women in acquiring some basic skills . These skills include the processes and practical section on how to make : Liquid soap, Shower gel, After wash or Fabric softener, Dettol , Floor cleaner ,Pomade etc. Which I will teach them all myself. Mr. Chairman, with these skills when acquired and practiced will enhance our financial strength during and after school. I will also actively pursue the agenda of ensuring gender equality and protect the interest of all female students and staff.
Thirdly, Mr. Chairman, when the mandate is given to me , with the supports of our gender champion, I will inspire and motivate women to expand their capability to their highest levels of personal and professional excellence in whatever life or work roles they choose. Mr. Chairman, when the mandate is given to me, I will also work with women within the college to give them the confidence to voice their opinions and suggestions to the student union so that the talents and ideas of many are heard and used. I will also re-enforced the guidance and counseling team for more effective personal growth which will enable students to become responsible citizens and motivated workers in future.
Finally, Mr. Chairman, as the standard has been set by my predecessors to hold discipline in high esteem among female students, I, Tudzi Comfort will also continue to maintain discipline among all female students in the college since discipline is the base rock of better Education. So as you go to cast your vote, I urge us all to vote for a leader who will lead from heart not head and above all a leader with a great vision, integrity and achievable mission not fallacy. A vote cast on me is not a vote wasted. Vote Miss Tudzi Comfort as your next STUDENTS REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL'S (SRC) WOMEN'S COMMISSIONER. Vote wisely because the decision you make today can affect your future.
