German International Toni Kroos was awarded the Player of the Match. Celtic's only chance came when McGregor hit the crossbar, aside from a completely lackluster performance by the champions. Shakhtar Donetsk went to the Red Bull Arena Leipzip to thrash RB Leipzip 1-4. Maryan Shved scored a brace in the 16’ and 58; with Mudryk and Traore scoring in the 76' and 85' respectively. RB Leipzig's only consolation was scored by M. Simakan in the 57’. Maryan Shved was adjudged the player of the match, captain Teras Stepanenko told Sky spork "I could not have imagined in my wildest dreams such a game with four goals for us. But we played well, and I feel we deserved that result tonight. "
At the Iduna Park, Borussia Dortmund thrashed FC Copenhagen 3-0. Reus, Guerreiro, and Bellingham were the scorers for the German side. Julius Brandt of Dortmund was the player of the match. In the other Group G encounter, Manchester City went to the Estadio R. Senchez Pizjuan to humiliate Sevilla into a 4-0 defeat.
In-form Haaland had a brace; Phil Foden and Ruben Dias were the other scorers. After the game, Pep Guardiola, Manchester City manager, commented on the performance of Jack Grealish.
