A FORMER CHELSEA SCOUT CONFESSES TRYING TO SIGN A GREAT PLAYER FROM MANCHESTER UNITED

Before Antony joined with Ajax, a former Chelsea scout has confessed he attempted to lure the Manchester United winger to Stamford Bridge.

Following his recent transfer from Ajax to Manchester United, Brazilian Antony made an early impression at Old Trafford by scoring on his team's first attempt to defeat Arsenal.

Piet de Visser, a former scout for Chelsea, has admitted that he tried to sign the Brazilian international before he joined Ajax, thus Antony's narrative might have been different.

"We initially encountered him at Brazil's junior ranks with Hans van der Zee [former Ajax head scout], and we were both smitten by him," De Visser told on sports.

Antony was a player for Sao Paulo of Brazil prior to joining Ajax. Scouting players at this level is never easy because there are questions about their ability to advance to the next level, especially when they are young, developing players.

"I would have wanted him, but we couldn't get him. He is a young man with poison in his behind. He occasionally transgresses the law, but he is from the favela, isn't he? "De Visser continued.

It's obvious that Antony believed Ajax to be the best place for him to continue his growth, and it's hard to argue that he made the right choice.

Young players are often given the opportunity to express themselves at Ajax, and Antony has now developed and finally received his big break.

The Manchester United teammates are responding favorably to Antony and Casemiro.

The Brazilian team is reportedly raising the bar for training at the Old Trafford club in addition to giving their all during games.

Even though they have had to contend with two Premier League games being postponed in the last two weeks, manager Erik ten Hag is putting the team through its paces at Carrington.

The next game for United is on Thursday when they meet Sheriff in the group stages of the Europa League.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Casemiro and Antony's arrival has energized training.

United will be hopeful that their performances in practice carry over to subsequent games.
