MUBARAK WAKASO BOOST WORLD CUP CHANCES WITH STRONG DISPLAY ON OOSTENDE DEBUT

Ghanaian international Mubarak Wakaso made a huge statement on his debut for Belgian side FC Eupen on Sunday against Öostende as he eyes a return to the Black Stars squad ahead of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The 32-year-old midfielder joined FC Eupen on loan from Chinese side Shenzhen this summer transfer window following a successful trail.

The former Deportivo Alaves midfielder made the starting line up for FC Eupen in his debut game in the Belgian Pro League against Öostende at the Diaz Arena stadium on Saturday.

Mubarak Wakaso who has last played competitive football several months ago showed his class with an impressive performance for FC Eupen. 

The Ghana midfielder was rated 6.8 by football performance rating app Sofascore.

He had a good rating  of 88percent in accurate passes, six (6) ground duels won out of 14 attempts, nine (9) attempts on long balls accuracy out of 11 attempts.


Mubarak Wakaso was outstanding in his first competitive game this year for the club.

The former Levante and Alaves midfielder was last involved in a competitive game in November 2021 during the 2022 World Cup qualifier against South Africa.

Mubarak Wakaso was named in Ghana’s squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations ((AFCON) in Cameroon but was later ruled out due to injury. 

GHANAsoccernetdotnet understands Mubarak Wakaso is likely to earn a late call up to the senior soccer team the Black Stars of Ghana for the September friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua due to some players likely to miss the clash.
